Brrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

A couple of years ago when Mike and I remodeled our kitchen we had to do a lot of reconstruction. During which we had to close off a heating vent that led to our master bathroom. At the time it seemed like a logical thing to do..... Well, last night I went in the bathroom to clean off my face and by the time I got out my toes felt like this pictures looks (my very cold bush by my front porch). I came out of the bathroom and exclaimed, "It is freakin' cold out there!" to which Mike busted up laughing. I was quick to correct myself but I guess not quite quick enough. After he finally finished laughing, I said well, it feels like it's"out" there---- in there! Note to self--do not complain about it being "freakin' hot" out there this summer!

Transfers!

We got an update from Chris today and he has been transferred to a little town called Huetla. He said it is super small and much different from where he has been serving. He is living in an apartment with 3 other missionaries and the 2 other than his companions are the zone leaders for the area. He is enjoying his mission and has had many postivie experiences. It has been so neat to hear how much he has grown already through his letters! He said that he can't send pictures in this area because the computer is unable to down load them so I don't have a current one to put here. So instead I will leave you with one from a Senior photo session that I did yesterday. The senior is a boy that Saydie has been dating so that is why she is with him in this picture. I just thought it was so cute! If you want to see more you can visit my vizion blog.

My classes

Alot of you had asked about the classe that I am taking. Well I think they are paying off. I just had to post what I have been working on. It is amazing the difference a little post processing can do with photos. I love it! I now understand why a lot of photographers charge so much for their work, because it is time consuming but I love the result! The first one ( my niece) is a standard retouch that I will do on most of my photos. The second one (also my niece), I did a lot more to her photo because my class was on glamour retouches. It's funny too because both of these photos I really liked straight out of the camera but the before and afters are.... well you decide!

Family updates!!

Ok so I sat most of the morning yesterday working on a family newsletter, that my sister and I send out every other month, and I put the update on the family there and neglected to add what is happening with the family here....... so here it is
Drum roll please........ For Mckayla's first semester at BYU she got a 3.4 GPA!! We are so proud of her and all of her accomplishments. She is just one awesome girl/daughter and I miss having her around the house already! Another drum roll please........ Elder Carter was made District Leader woohooo! He is doing so well, he says he finally feels like he is fluent in Spanish and is excited to be a DL. He has lots of goals planned for the coming year and is almost at his 10 month date (just 5 more days)! So those are the new things with the family, besides my parents arriving home from their mission in Ohio. It is so good to have them home. Grandpa had the kids rolling when we went to take a picture and he pulled out the peace sign, I guess he has just been around too many Elders(what is up with that anyway???),lol(see photo). Sorry about the camera shake, I guess I was laughing pretty hard too! All in all we had a great Christmas and New Year and are looking forward to a brand new year!

Love The Beauty Hate the Cold!!!

Saturday morning when I woke up and looked out the window. This is what I saw. It was so beautiful that I just had to grab the camera and capture it. But I have to admit that I HATE being cold! I could never live in Alaska.... but I do love to curl up with some hot chocolate and a good book, or as of now I have been cuddling with my computer. I have been taking some online classes. It is really cold in my computor room so I will wrap up in my fleece blanket (that saydie made me for mother's day...thanks Sayd xoxoxo) put on my slippers grab a hot mug of soup (if it's lunch time) put in the earphones and I am set! It is so funny because my 2 dogs are just like kids (other than they sleep a lot more, haha) they just have to be right by me every minute. So they will curl up in the chair and sleep while I am listening, but if I move they are right behind me. So funny. And Ginger snores so that is why I have to use headphones, no lie, she can make some noise with that snout!!! I was going to take a picture of the little turkeys but when I got up to get the camera..... guess what?... yep they followed me! They were looking pretty funny too, the little one gets the big armchair and the big one,all scrunched up, gets the little dog bed???? Go figure!
